Hello Again

My it's been a long time!

Hi everyone! Has it been a while since my last blog update? My goodness. I cannot believe that it is already June, and the year is nearly up. 😵

I've been working hard, with The Morrow Lands release in April, and thinking up changes to the website. I'd love to do some interactive games, to see which characters you're most like, some lore pages, and other cool stuff but we will see what makes it into the end.

I'd love to say the lack of communication is related to that hard work, but honestly, no, not really... I've always struggled with depression, and my ADHD which unmedicated can get the better of me in all the worst ways sometimes. The last few months particularly have been hitting me hard.

I've been overwhelmed and overexerting myself mentally. And that has led to the ever-lovely task lock up so hard that nothing, and I mean nothing, is getting done. But that all hopefully is looking up here soon. 😃

I've finally got a hold of some of this emotional turmoil and am getting back into my skin. 2020 hit me hard, and I mean harder than every year before and the last five years I've been waiting for it to just, I don't know, ease up. That, however, seems to be a pipe dream, this is the new norm and little with fix that. And I don't know about you, but I myself find it extremely hard to adapt to change. So, tired of myself sucking, here is to another attempt.

It isn't how often you fall off the horse but how often you keep getting up, isn't it?

If you didn't know!

The Morrow Lands, book two of my debut series (A Nymue Hannok Novel, and from The World of Moonborn) is out! You can find the paperback and digital copies on Amazon, and the reviews I am getting are looking rather promising! I'm so excited about the release! There are at least two more books in the burner for Nym so stay tuned.

Current Projects - Novellas & Short Stories

With the release of The Morrow Lands, I've decided to focus on a couple Novella's & Short Stories before really committing to the third book (which is already in the drafting and planning phase I promise). Those in mind include some focusing on other characters, such as Gray & Wynter, Tallo, and Jasper. Depending on the length these projects end up being (and if I have the courage to share them once they are finished) they may end up physical books on my Amazon along with Hollows and The Morrow Lands or they could end up as free downloadable pdfs on the site.

Current Focus - Routine & Mental Health

With the serious blow to my mental health that is deciding not to medicate myself (and not ever being able to find any medication that works) I've had a pretty hard struggle getting myself into the headspace and working rhythm of "normal" people. I couldn't say I've ever figured it out, nor that I ever will. But every day is a new beginning, and another chance to improve myself and my own discipline.

The next few months are going to be spent working on my mental health and trying to get myself situated into as close of a "normal" headspace as I can. Fingers crossed, wish me luck!

Currently Reading - The Folk of the Air Series

I recently discovered Audible in full, and to say I've gone wild would be an understatement that downplays the heart-stress my obsession has caused my poor husband. XD I just finished The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black (thank you BookTok) and can I just say ☆☆☆☆☆!!

It has been a while since I've read a YA book, and Holly did not disappoint. With all the ACOTAR and Quicksilver (*coughs* Kingfisher) stuff out there it was nice to read a series where the fairies were actual, as I remember them, fairies. Wings, and green skins, and scary in the Alice in Wonderland kind of ways rather than the hot gothic leather clad warrior kinds of ways. Don't get me wrong, I like a good leather clad warrior with questionably sized spicy bits, but this was a nice breath of fresh air.

That's about all I have time for today, and nearly all I have to say in an update. Keep up your own dusting off and getting back in the proverbial saddle. Every failure is a learning experience, every shortcoming a new challenge to overcome, and every moment of self-doubt that mountain to climb like you're one of Sarah J. Maas's protagonists. Be the hero/heroine of your own story, keep on friend!
